november birchbox

it’s that time of the month again!
not that awful time, it’s birchbox review time!!!

xoxo rebecca mae november birchboxjust one picture this month.
the struggle to get out of bed and be creative taking pictures was just way too real.

anyways!
i’m loving this box.
-amika nourishing mask:: smells good and leaves my hair feeling soft. all good things in my book!
-gilchrist & soames:: love the size of this body wash and it’s light scent.
-perlier absolute comfort body butter-white almond:: easily my favorite product. i’m a big fan of almond scented things so it’s already awesome but it’s super nourishing which really makes it a winner!
-red flower illuminating rose collagen renewal face serum:: not a huge fan of face serums but this was very hydrating, like the description boasts.
-thebalm cosmetics cindy-lou manizer:: while i liked this sample i definitely won’t be buying this. the color is great to use all over the face but the product just kinda sucks. it crumbled with just one sweep of my brush. disappointing for a thebalm product.
-chocolate almond butter:: yum. yum. yumyumyum. need i say more?

eShakti vest review

*disclaimer:: i received this product in exchange for an honest review. all opinions expressed in this post are my own.*

when eShakti contacted me and offered me one of their products in exchange for a review, i was so stoked!
after searching through the pieces i was able to choose from, i immediately fell in love with this vest::
eshakti vesti’m sure you can understand why.
those colors. fur. that design. birds.
y’all it’s probably my favorite item of clothing.

eShakti is an india based company that offers all their pieces in a wide range of sizes (literally. 0-36W). on top of that, they offer customization/tailoring on most pieces. it wasn’t offered on my vest but it really didn’t need any changing.

xoxo rebecca mae eshakti vest stylei love this vest because it has such a fun flare and great colors.
to highlight those, i paired the vest with gray cashmere sweater, skinny jeans and gray booties.
a simple outfit, but the vest totally makes it!

eshakti vest backeven the back has a cute little detail!

beaufort, nc

to celebrate our anniversary earlier this week, j and i took a trip down to beaufort, nc.
it’s only a 45 minute drive so i’m not sure why we haven’t explored this cute little town before, but this was our first time!

we had a late lunch at clawson’s.
clauson's beaufort, ncthis pub has a great home-y feel and has all sorts of fun vintage decor to look at.
the food was ahhhhmazing.
bacon cheese friesbacon cheddar cheese fries. um. yum.
death by chocolate cakewe told the waitress it was our anniversary so she surprised us with a free dessert.
j loves chocolate more than any woman i know so we had to go with the death by chocolate cake.
it was delicious.
i may be drooling now as i stare at this pic too…
beer is my friendthe beer selection was great too!
3 year anniversayclawson’s was great. i highly recommend it and i’m positive we’ll be back!

after lunch we wandered around downtown beaufort for a while.
it was a chilly november day so the streets and shops were pretty empty.
beaufort is right on the water so i’m sure it’s bumpin’ in the summer!

exploring beaufort was so much fun!

after our adventures, we came home and had our traditional anniversary cupcake dessert.

a little love letter

dearest j,
three years ago i met you at the church.
wyant wedding
we shared love letters and said our “i dos”, making us husband & wife.
those titles just don’t do our relationship justice.

you’re my best friend, furbaby daddy, better half, the love of my life, the big to my little bird.
the list could go on and on.

we’ve had our ups and we’ve certainly had our downs.
but no matter what life throws our way, i know you’ll be right by my side.
and i’m so thankful for that confidence.

so cheers to three years my love!
i did love you, i do love you & i will love you.
thank you for this wonderful life.

november goals

welcome november

hate to be a debbie downer but october was a rough month.
it seemed like one challenge after another after another and so on.
but! october is done.
and now we’re warmly welcoming november and greeting it with high hopes.

this month my biggest goal is to live simply.
with the holidays quickly approaching i’m already finding myself thinking “life would be so much better if i had this…”(currently it’s a red kitchen aid stand mixer–perfect gift idea for yours truly! hint hint😉 )
we’ve been eating out too much with a full fridge, wasting too many groceries.
i keep buying our furbabies treats even though i can easily make my own, but buying a bag is so much easier.

living simply will require slowing down.
taking a trip out to the farmer’s market and buying fresh local produce instead of grabbing some while at walmart.
cooking dinner instead of swinging by wendy’s on the way home.
getting off the couch and making my boys treats instead of giving them icky processed snacks from a bag.

i don’t always need to be rush rush rushing.
it’s okay to::
smile breath and go slowly
and that’s exactly what i’m going to do this month!

so welcome november, i just know you’ll be a good one.

dog park date!

over the weekend j and i took our furbabies on a dog park date.
dog park
our first family of four selfie!

getting the boys to look in the same direction is proving to be impossible…
more on that later.

this was ace’s very first time going to the dog park.
he wasn’t so sure at first but he loved smelling all the smelly smells that smell smelly.
and leo, well, that nut just went nuts.

dog park 3
caring for two dogs is proving to be a lot of work, but we’re loving it!

remember what i said about them never looking the same way…yea.
can’t wait for the most perfect family picture where all eyes are on the same target.
i promise i’ll share it with ya!

we’re taking full advantage of this gorgeous weather and are getting out as much as we can.
can’t wait for another dog park date with all my guys!

lately on instagram...
j has been traveling a lot for work lately...thanks to this sweet guy my bed never feels empty! #leograms last night my mr. and i saw @blink182! the show was insane and we lost of voices from screaming the lyrics that we know & love. 7 years ago we went to our first blink concert. i went with my best friend, he went with his usmc recruiter. we had no clue the other existed at the time, let alone was at the same concert. flash forward. we're quickly approaching our 5 year wedding anniversary and we just saw our favorite band together, this time as husband & wife. forever amazed at where life takes us and so very thankful for the journey we go on to get there. "fate fell short this time, your smile fades in the summer. place your hand in mine, i'll leave when i wanna." @blink182 lyrics in honor of the fact that in exactly one week we will be seeing them in concert! be still my teen angsty pop punk lovin heart ❤
