wedding bells

what a busy weekend.
i feel like a drank an entire bottle of tequila to myself.
i didn’t. but i’m also not saying that i did’t drink a lot.

this weekend my best friend since 7th grade  renewed her vows.
she had asked me to be her maid (matron, whatever) of  honor and i, of course, accepted.
it was a short and sweet ceremony with a great party, lots of booze and ah-mazing food.
my kind of party.

let’s go back through the weekend, shall we?
the blackhawks won the cup which is totally bomb.
working at a starbucks that is attached to a train sation that hundreds of people traveled through to get downtown?
not so bomb.
work was freaking nuts. but we got to wear jeans and blackhawks shirts which made up for the insane amount of people we served.
leo was clearly not in the mood for pictures but i don’t care, i love it.

friday night was the wedding rehearsal/dinner.
rehearsal dinner dress
dress: chandelier boutique (palatine, il)
belt: savvy scavengers (galena, il)
rehearsal dinner earrings
earrings: chandelier boutique (palatine, il)
i loved my dress. i kind of felt like tinker bell!
dinner was at a pizza/pub place.
i’ve been dying for some chicago pizza and this meal totally satisfied all cravings/needs.
after dinner i stopped by my grandparent’s house and this happened:
nana and i took a selfie while drinking little plastic bottles of wine.
is it possible for this picture to get any better!?

saturday was the day of the ceremony.
the ceremony was set to take place outside but the weather has been insanely bi-polar lately so we were all worried it was going to rain.
it didn’t!
norge ski club
the ceremony/reception took place at norge ski club in fox river grove, il.
the slopes were nuts!
i don’t think you could pay me any amount of money to go down even the smallest one.
but they made for a very cool atmosphere.
wedding drinks
my favorite part about a wedding is the bar.
so many drink choices!
i stuck with margaritas and champagne.
mmm mmm mmm!!!
wedding appitizers
i had to chow down on this great food to soak up a little of the liquor.
everything was so tasty.
in addition to the light hors d’oeuvres there was also hot heavy hors d’oeuvres and a breakfast send-off.
my mom came to the wedding too!
and she looked gorgeous.
maid of honor
it was a beautiful day and i was so happy to share my friend’s special day with her!
and i made a couple of new friends which is always cool too.
yay for big fancy ceremonies!

sunday was spent recuperating.
and i met my maid of honor for ice cream. and got to meet her new boyfriend.
love was certainly in the air this weekend!
everyone’s so happy and in love and i’m just over here like i miss j.
but he’ll be in chicago soon!
i have a donut of misery app on my phone and each day our time apart gets less and less.
distance is only temporary and thank god for that!
