snowpocalypse

what the actual hell north carolina?

there is a good coat of snow on the ground!

i thought we left the cold and snow in chicago! back home, everyone has given my wonderful chicago the less-than-wonderful nickname “chiberia” because it’s awfully cold. the temperature was in the negative teens and some schools were still holding classes. down here? that would so not fly. the other week schools were delayed two hours because it was below freezing in the morning…

i digress. rumors about a nasty winter storm that was supposed to hit on tuesday were flying around so naturally absolutely everything was cancelled for tuesday. even the base where j works shut down! but things just didn’t close for tuesday, they closed for wednesday too. and then yesterday we got word that everything will be closed for today, thursday, too! this total shut down really is for the best though because there’s maybe one snow plow in the entire town and absolutely no one knows how to drive in this insane weather.

thanks for this basically snow week north carolina!
we sure did love it!

  1. So funny because I want to go to Chicago for grad school, and I’m in undergrad in North Carolina right now!

backyard bonfires with my boys ❀ if you know me, one of the best words to describe me is "busy". i spend my days constantly running from one activity to the next. even though i love all that i'm doing, it's still easy to feel burnt out. especially with the holiday season so quickly approaching, i'm making it my intention so slow down. take a few deep breaths. sit and listen to the rain. treat myself to a coffee at my favorite cafe. get to a yoga class. make time to be still.
you can't pour from an empty cup. how will you fill yours today? all i want to do is love on him but all he wants to do is hunt down the squirrels πŸ˜€
