j and i have been married for over 2.5 years and this past weekend was our first official family vacation!
we’ve taken a couple trips to my aunt’s vacation home but this weekend away was the first time we’ve gone somewhere new by ourselves.
where did we go?
myrtle beach, sc!
we had a blast.
j had to work on friday morning but we were able to get down there around 4pm.
perfect timing to check into the crown reef resort where we spent our weekend.
i was able to get a great deal off of groupon which made our stay even sweeter!
the “resort” had a huge lazy river, multiple pools and hot tubs and the best part was it was right on the beach!
after getting settled, we immediatly headed back out to one of my very favorite restaurants that we don’t have near us in nc…
i was in heaven.
chipotle was just outside a mall so after dinner we wandered around for a little bit. there aren’t any real malls near us either so it was so nice to be in an actual one!
after shopping we went back to the hotel to swim then headed up to the hotel bar for some drinks.
saturday we attempted to go to the beach but the weather was drizzly and overcast so that didn’t last long.
instead, we went to broadway at the beach!
if we ever go back down to myrtle beach we’ll for sure stay closer to broadway. such a cool area!
our first stop was the hard rock cafe.
lunch was ah-mazing and the drinks were good too.
after spending an insane amount of money…over $150 between lunch and souvenirs!!!!, we left and walked around a little more.
we went into a few touristy shops and fed some fish!
they went crazy over the food! poor guys were laying on top of others to get a bit.
totally crazy to watch.
saturday night we went to pirates voyage.
SO MUCH FUN!
it’s a dinner show kind of like medival times but way way wayyyy better.
we had a blast and would absolutely recommend it to anyone heading to MB.
sunday morning we checked out of our hotel and then went to cracker barrel for breakfast.
i love me some cracker barrel!
myrtle beach was the perfect weekend getaway. it would have been sweet to stay an extra couple days but we were missing our furbaby like crazy and ready to get back to our memory foam bed.
